There is this unexpected buzz that Nandamuri Balakrishna has inexplicably doubled his remuneration. Star actors usually hike their fees after scoring a blockbuster. But Balayya has done it after delivering two back-to-back disasters (read 'NTR: Kathanayakudu' and 'NTR: Mahanayakudu').

The 'NTR' films lost a huge amount of money in January and February this year. Distributors suffered unspeakable losses because of them. Yet, Balayya is said to have charged Rs 10 Cr for his next film. "Hitherto, the TDP leader was charging Rs 5 Cr. Nothing explains the hike. Probably, he wants to make good some of the losses suffered by him because of the 'NTR' films," an observer says.

If Rs 10 Cr has gone into paying the actor, one can imagine what might be the film's budget.
