It was in 2016 that intense speculations about Mokshagna's film debut took roots in the media. Occasionally in the five years, Nandamuri Balakrishna has enticed his fans with the talk of a sequel to 'Aditya 369', which has been touted to be Mokshagna's inevitable and destined launch vehicle.

In his latest interview, the 'Akhanada' actor once again flaunted the long-delayed sequel. He said that he might himself wield the megaphone for his son's launch vehicle. Titled 'Aditya 999', its basic story is by Balakrishna himself. Writers Satyanand and others have been involved in developing the story. Veteran filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, who was supposed to direct it five years ago, is believed to have given way to the 'Legend' actor. But he will likely be the film's creative supervisor. He is too old to direct a movie anyways.
While nobody knows when exactly 'Aditya 999' will go on the floors, the film is back in the news. To be sure, the enthusiasm around Mokshagna's debut has petered off even among sections of Balayya's fans. Mokshagna doesn't seem to be media-savvy either.
Balakrishna has previously directed the shelved 'Nartana Shala'. It became defunct after it was shot for a few months in the early 2000s. After more than 15 years, the 'Simha' actor wants to direct a film. Everyone keep your fingers crossed!
