Directors Balaji Sakthivel and Simbhu Devan have given blockbuster each for director Shankar's home production - S Films.

While the former's Kadhal managed a huge collection at the box office, the latter's historical satire Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi too opened big and is drawing good crowds.

Emerging out from Shankar's stable, they have brought name to their mentor.

Though several production houses have been queuing around them to do movies for them, as mark of respect for helping them shape their career, both declared that they would be directing their next film for S Films only.

Balaji Sakthivel is expected to commence his movie in a couple of months. It would star newcomers. Simbhu Devan, who was gifted a car by Shankar, will commence a movie for him early next year.

Good proteges and a happy mentor.
