'Balagam', starring Priyadarshi and actress Kavya Kalyanram ('Masooda' fame), will hit the screens on March 3. Ahead of its theatrical release, its trailer was today unveiled digitally by Vijay Deverakonda, who described it as a film that is rooted in our native culture, their towns, their relationships and their problems.
The trailer begins with an old man becoming the village's most friendly person, occasionally cracking a cheesy joke or two. Priyadarshi and his love interest are introduced a little late in the trailer. The jolly mood gives way to an undercurrent of tension as the trailer progresses.
What tragedy struck the old man? What is the fallout of an unexpected happening in the village? Are the men generally selfish or do they rise above petty faultlines? The trailer makes us ask many questions.
Dil Raju Productions' Harshith Reddy and Hanshitha Reddy have produced this rural drama that has got music from Bheems Ceciroleo. Directed by Venu Yeldandi (comedian Venu Tillu), its story takes place in Telangana's Siricilla. With the cinematography done by Acharya Venu, the film has been edited by Madhu.
