Director Bala after his superhit film 'Naachiyaar' starring G.V. Prakash and Jyothika went on to helm 'Varma' in which Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram as the hero. The ace director has completed the shooting of this film in record time considering the usual time he takes on his projects. The traditional pumpkin ("Poosanikkai") has been broken this evening and the film goes into post production with the audio launch planned on September 22nd.

'Varma' is the remake of the blockbuster hit Telugu movie 'Arjun Reddy' and Dhruv Vikram replaces Vijay Deverakonda in the lead role while newcomer Megha does the female lead made popular by Shalini Pandey in teh original. Raiza Wilson and Easwari Rao costar with Radhan scoring the music, Sukumar taking care of the cinematography and produced by E4 Entertainment.
