Ilayathalapathy and Keerthy starrer, Bharathan's Bhairava is up in the arena, making a massive entry in Sandy's musical genius. The two and half hours movie comes with a package of five intriguingly interesting tunes, and here's how they fare:
Pattaya Kelappu - Ananthu , Benny dayal
In line with the title of this track, the song gathers up energy for a powerful order lined up. Percussioned with folk instruments, the song is one that spreads awareness on the most happenening headlines of the day - money stashed away in secrecy. The song also speaks of the joy of giving, but in a hidden manner. Ananthu and Benny Dayal
have rendered the song such that their voices blend inseparably with each other's, all along ensuring that the message from the song is loud and clear. Set on a simple rhythm, the song is a straightforward number, to note inferences from - a typical starter.
Nillayo - Haricharan
The second song is a lilting melody, backed solely on strings. It is a beautifully worded romantic solo, injected with class in Vairamuthu's poetry and brought up to elegance in Haricharan's mesmerising voice. Although following a steady set of rhythm, the song sounds like a candid flow of happy high, captive in rapture. The song stands out
in all its glory, thanks to the extensive quartet orchestra, and magical words. This masterpiece flows to a gradual end, in chorus hum, rounded off with the only beat in its entire length.
Azhagiya Soodana Poove - VijayNarain, Dharshana KT
This jazz track is a duet, with a lot of pep sprinkled on with romance, tightly loaded with lyrical melody. The song is reminiscent of the late 80s classic; the stand-alone speciality of this song is that it has adopted the styles of both English as well as Tamil cine music from that era, mixed them up in equal parts, wrapping it all in a package of consistent retro string score. Vijay Narain's gentle improvisation to the basic tune well complements
the lyrical excellence of Vairamuthu's. Dharshana has a deep captivating tone, which fits the sequence perfectly like the last piece of a jigsaw. First in sax, then in violins, the song has two masterpiece signatures, completing the grand package of a vibrant number.
Papa Papa - Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Priyadharshini
The typical folk song is one of singing praise of the hero; but the number stands out from the breed in its tune. The song runs on the lifeline of kuthu beats that roll out on guitar. Although simple and straightforward in its notes, the conversational dialogous song gathers moment and depth in its rendition by Ilayathalapathy and Priyadharshini, in alignment with the beats. The song winds up in the same elevated level of energy, on a quick roll of guitars, completing the loop of zeal.
Varalam Varalam Va - Arun Kamaraj, Roshan Jamrock
Racing through our hearts, this track revs up for a befitting conclusion for the action packed album. The theme, of which we already have a glimpse through the teaser, begins with roaring bike engine, and goes on to gain passionate energy in guitar and signature dubstep flow. Arunaraja and Roshan give the theme a new lease of liveliness both in
their rendition as well as poesy. This song is bound to be close especially to diehard hearts, given the description of Bhairava, which is Thalapathy himself as well.
Bhairava is a movie filled with action. Santhosh Narayan has worked his magic again, as he has rolled out an album, which is always in tune with the mood of the movie's crux.
Verdict: Now that's indeed a green signal to the hero.
