Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir was one of the directors of a joint housing project initiated by Rudra Buildwell Realty Pvt Ltd and HR Infracity Pvt Ltd in Ghaziabad near Delhi. The celeb was also the brand ambassador of the project.

In 2016, several buyers went to the court alleging that they had been duped of Rs 1.98 Cr by the developers. They had booked apartments which were never handed over, the complainants said in their litigation. The housing project has not been materialized since 2011.

In this regard, Gambhir has been issued summons by the court several times. However, he has not appeared even once. After repeated warnings, the court has issued a bailable warrant for Rs 10,000 against him. The next hearing date falls on January 24.
