Breaking: Former finance minister P Chidambaram gets bail!

Congress leader and former union finance Minister P.Chidambaram had been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the hearing held today, after his arrest in the INX money laundering case filed by the Enforcement directorate. Supreme court has given instructions that Chidambaram must not tamper evidences or influence witnesses and also must not give interviews to the media about the case.
P Chidambaram was initially arrested by the CBI on August 21 in connection with the INX Media corruption case and had been granted bail by the Supreme court on October 22.Later, the Enforcement directorate had arrested him on October 16 in money laundering case.
It was on May 15, 2017 that the CBI had filed its case citing that there are irregularities in a foreign investment clearance which had been granted to the INX Media group for to receive overseas funds of over Rs 305 crore in 2007,which was during P.Chidambaram's tenure as the central finance minister. He has now been granted bail after 58 days in custody of police and CBI and later was sent to Tihar Jail.
