He desperately needed a winner to salvage his career that seemed struck in a quicks and of never-ending middle-ground films.
And Chaandupottu has arrived. This Onam release has given a new impetus and impression to Dileep's career.
Chaandupottu, a story of transsexual, has brought Dileep to the centre stage.
Even if the film indeed was good, Lal Jose's aggressive promotion added an extra dimension.
The trade says that the first week collections of the film from 40 screens have already touched Rs.1.95 crores with the distributor's share of Rs.92 lakhs. The film improved tremendously after a slow start.
Chaandupottu is indeed the mark of success on Dileep's forehead.
