Baby berth in trains is designed without commonsense: Netizens

Indian Railways has floated a baby berth on a pilot basis. An announcement was made in this regard earlier this week. "Facilitating ease of travel for mothers travelling with their babies. Indian Railways introduced baby berth on an experimental basis in Lucknow Mail. The fitted baby berth is foldable and secured with a stopper," the Ministry of Railways tweeted.
But the design is coming in for flak. A mother today tweeted, "Anyone with half a brain would know that you would keep the child INSIDE near the wall and not outside to fall and get injured."
"Appreciate the thoughtfulness. But mothers would secure babies with their arms rather than a baby berth that surely needs a lot of improvement to make it safer. Hoping to see improved and tested baby berths across all coaches and trains soon," wrote Swati Gouri, a social media user.
Many Netizens, at the same time, are urging people to be patient. "This is a pilot test. Feedback will be taken and the full roll-out will include practical and sensible suggestions," a Twitter user said.
