Irrfans son Babil Khan talks about the issue of nepotism

Around two years after the demise of brilliant actor Irrfan Khan, his son Babil is set to make his debut in the film industry. He'll be seen in a film titled 'Qala' alongside actress Tripti Dimri. Whenever a star kid makes his/her Bollywood debut, debates about nepotism are sparked up in film fraternity and Babil's case is no different.

In a recent media interaction, Babail addressed this issue. He acknowledged the privileges he got due to his father's reputation and shared how he is going to utilise them with his best efforts.

Babil told GQ, "Pressure in itself is a privilege. The expectations from me are markers of my privilege. Either you can beat yourself up and feel guilty about it or accept it with humility and harness it into your work. I’ve chosen the latter. I’m grateful for the opportunities that I know others won’t get as easily as I have. If I can’t use my privilege and justify it through my craft, it’d be such a waste."

Babil also recalled how Irrfan had reacted to his dreams of becoming an actor. Apparently the late actor had said, "You’re screwed. I’m really good at what I do. You’ll have to be very, very good at this.”

Apart from 'Qala', Babil will also star in a web show titled 'The Railway Men'.
