Mohanlal's Baba Kalyani which released in 60 screens in 42 stations has taken a bumper opening in the first weekend. The film registered a hundred percent in the first three days in almost all centres. It has grossed around 63 lakhs from the opening day and Rs 1.12 Crore in its first 3 days with a record share of Rs 54 Lakhs.

But the collections fell from the day four and in many centres where the film was playing in two theatres simultaneously was forced to cut the screening in the second theatre. Though the film carries mixed reports, the film will be classified as a definite hit.

Meanwhile Suresh Gopi's Smart City carries good reports all across the state. Three films that will mark its opening in the year end will be Notebook which is scheduled for a release tomorrow, Palunku the Mammootty starrer by Blessy on the Christmas day and the Speed Track which is all set to reach the theatres by the 29th of December.
