Baba Kalyani and Palunku share the honors

Among the four Christmas releases, Mohanlal's Baba Kalyani is expected to become the clear winner, even though Palunku has started showing signs of becoming another biggie.
Baba Kalyani has given a distributors share of Rs 1.44 Crore in 14 days and is a definite hit. Baba Kalyani has difference in opinion among filmgoers but what has worked to Baba Kalyani's advantage is that Smart City and Notebook did not take a decent opening. Added to that Mohanlal's charm and the mother sentiment song Kai Niraye Vennai tharaam, picturised on Mohanlal and his favorite screen mom Kaviyoor Ponamma also invites more families.
More and more people are finding the film Notebook is interesting and are ready to appreciate the director and producer for their brave endeavor.
Meanwhile Mammootty's Palunku directed by Blessy is becoming the most appreciated film this year end. As collections are gradually picking up, the word-of-mouth is working in much favor for the film.
