Is the team of Nagaraj Kote writing a new chapter for ‘Children Film’ category? It appears so from this ‘Baanadi’. The commercial look and pretty good presentation plus mixing music well and selecting good artists Nagaraj Kote for producer Nagaraj has taken the right steps.

Besides good production values there is enough of issues dealt in the film. The study of child psychology is very important although shown in ‘Prathama Ushakirana’ Kannada cinema in the past, the parent not understanding the need of the bright child is very rightly focused.

The film is bright and bubbling with Karthik Sharma debutant music director who studied in AR Rehman studio. The melody is Karthik Sharma strength. For the moods and feel the songs are adjusted so well in the film.

Kishor (Master Prafulkumar) is a very bright student of Kannada medium school. He is in the care of his grandfather (Played by Dattanna). On return of his father Kishor finds the situation tough. He is admitted to an English school where he cannot cope up. Because his interests are different – the move to shift him to boarding school perturb him completely. He run away and joins ‘Hagalu Vesha’ (Wanderers) team. He is given right needs at this place. From the day today earning the ‘Hagalu Vesha’ team send Kishor to school. On the other hand the grandfather of Kishore dies because of worry. As a boy with some intelligence Kishor goes to the extent of writing a book on the life of the people of ‘Hagalu Vesha’ and wins award for his ‘Baanadi’ book.

When father of Kishor realizes the fault it is too late. Kishor decline to live with his father and goes to ‘Hagalu Vesha’ community for his further living.

This young wonder Master Praful Kumar is sure to get some awards for his role. The dynasty in order he tells in speed would win him applaud.

As IT father Rajesh Nataraga, grandfather Dattanna, Nagaraj Kote as villager, Jayasri Raj as teacher, Sringeri Ramanna and Venkatachala of Hagalu Vesha team members, Abhinaya as teacher have given admirable support.

Cinematography is as good as music. There is good comedy and dialogues are well written, editing is competent.

You can watch this film ‘Baanadi’ once.

Score - 7.5/10
