While 'Bharat Ane Nenu' is going to have a huge release in the US (320 locations, 2000 premiere shows, 10000 shows in the first weekend), there is a reason why the distribution company Great India Films has given many small centers a miss. Mahesh Babu's fans in these locations are found complaining. GIF has given an explanation.
"It seems few people have complaints that 'BAN' is not releasing in few small locations. We know that and it's deliberate. 'Baahubali-2' did not even recover expenses in those locations. Yes, we do understand that one or two might have missed due to screens not available, Sorry!!" GIF says.
It further adds, "If anybody is interested, they can buy the rights for a private show and screen for themselves. We are happy to provide that. It is ridiculous for the sake of few people asking us to spend $1000+ just for the expenses. For reference, If any movie releasing more than 200 location, and if the locations gross is less than $1800 in Cinemark, $2500 in AMC/Regal then we don't recover expenses, If anybody still want to take the risk of those missing centers they are welcome to acquire and release it," the company says.
'BAN is releasing in the highest ever Dolby Atmos screens for any Indian movie in the US.
