It was yet another turn for Baahubali to sweep an awards ceremony. At the CineMAA Awards 2016, the magnum opus stood a bellwether, winning awards in about 12 categories, including in two of the most prestigious ones - Best Movie and Best Director.
Among the award winners, almost everyone made it to the event with the exception of Rajamouli, MM Keeravani and Ramya Krishna. When Gunasekhar announced the award for Best Director, he said that he was proud to say that it's Rajamouli. While receiving the award for Best Movie, K Raghavendra Rao, one of the producers, said that the credit must go to one man: Rajamouli. Vamshi Paidipally said that he was honoured to be a director at a time when Rajamouli is making movies. These encomiums only show that the maker of Baahubali has become a man of his own extraordinary league after the pan-Indian phenomenon he made last year.
