Sridevi was the initial choice of the makers of 'Baahubali' for the Sivagami character which finally went to Ramya Krishnan. Rajamouli in an interview had stated that the outrageous demands of Sridevi to be a part of the film could not be accommodated within the budget of the film and that's why the idea of casting her was dropped.
In her reaction to this, Sridevi had expressed shock about Rajamouli's comments and denied making any unjust demands mentioned by Rajamouli. She also said that the producer of the film would have misinformed the filmmaker.
Now the director who is always known for speaking his heart out, has put an end to this controversy by expressing regret for his comments. Speaking to a popular English web portal, the 'Naan Ee' director, said he should not have discussed this matter in public. However he did not disown the comments he made in that interview and said it is for the people to decide which is the truth but he said he should not have discussed the details of an actress not being a part of a film in public platform and he regretted that mistake.
