A landmark day it is. For an Indian-language film has touched the magic figure of Rs. 1000 cr today. Ten billion rupees in gross. For once, Bollywood is sub-national, while the so-called "regional" Tollywood seems to have gone national. That's the impossible feat 'Baahubali-2' has pulled off in a record short time of ten days.
The records are only expected to get fatter. Going by what 'PK' in the past and 'Dangal' now are doing in China, if and when 'Baahubali-2' were to be released in China, it could add huge amounts to its kitty.
In North America, meanwhile, the film has officially crossed the USD 15 Million mark. It's only a matter of time before it reaches one billion in rupee terms.
In Tamil Nadu, it has grossed Rs. 70 Cr, with Chennai alone contributing more than Rs. 8 Cr.
