When they were making 'Kashmora', Karthi's director and producer decided to temporarily cancel the shoot after 'Baahubali-The Beginning' hit the screens in 2015. They called off the production works for a few weeks because they wanted to analyze what best they can do to up the visual appeal of their fantasy-horror in an attempt to live up to the standards that Rajamouli's film had just set.
Cut to 2017, another film is doing something similar after 'Baahubali-The Conclusion'. It's 'Padmavati'. This time around, it's even more significant because the director is none other than Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Allegedly, the budget of the historical has been revised by about 25 to 30 per cent so as to sex-up the visual grandeur in the wake of the mania created by Rajamouli's magnum opus. Everybody is in the grip of its magic, and tragically, when 'Padmavati' hits the screens, it will be unfairly compared to the visuals of Rajamouli's movie.
Already, Rs. 160 Cr was what 'Padmavati' was costing. At Rs. 200 Cr or so, the historical will be the costliest-ever Bollywood movie.
Whatever they might say, Bhansali's meticulousness is unmatched. He is a perfectionist, unlike Rajamouli. The humble Rajamouli too will agree with this view. Given this, Bhansali having to re-imagine his movie after watching 'Baahubali-2' is all the more curious.
