In Tamil Nadu, 'Baahubali-2' opened like a film starring Rajinikanth, Vijay and Ajith. The tremendous pre-release buzz for the film matched the expectations over a film directed by Shankar.

The marvellous sequel to the 2015 blockbuster day has reported grossed Rs. 11 Cr. from theatres across TN . This is huge and is said to be the second highest after Vijay-starrer 'Bairavaa' so far this year. The net collections will be lesser as the film has not been granted a tax exemption status as it has acquired a U/A certificate from Censor board.

It must be noted that the film did not have any special morning show and the first ever show of the film started only at around 11 am. If that was not the case, the film would have created new box office records in the state.
