Remakes, sequels and franchises are in. If one looks at the number of films that are currently on floors and the list of biggies that would be hitting the screens in 2012, the results are mind boggling. 'Don 2', 'Players', 'Agneepath', 'Tezz', 'Housefull 2', 'Kya Kool Hai Hum 2', 'Jannat 2', 'Rowdy Rathore', 'Bol Bachchan', 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2', 'Raaz 3' and 'Dhoom 3' - Each of these films belongs to any one of the aforementioned categories. Now join 'Azaan' to the list.

"We have made up our mind to build 'Azaan' into a franchise. It would be pretty much akin to moving from one zone to another as the subject is so vast and has enough plots to be explored", says a source close to the makers, "This time around Azaan Khan (Sachiin Joshi) is fighting against terrorists who are out there to create biological warfare. Tomorrow it could be some other battle."

Though neither Sachiin nor director Prashant Chadha were willing to spill the beans yet, those close to them state that there are already two storylines that have been confirmed for the next films that would arrive under 'Azaan' franchise.

"Of course each of these films would be action affairs and yet again the scale would be international. For 'Azaan' we have spread out our story in places as far as Poland, Germany, France, Morocco, South Africa, Hong Kong, Thailand and of course India. For the next in the series, we would be taking our story into other parts of the world," the source continues.
