Ayodhya will become richer than Tirupati: Analysts

It's now only a matter of a few years before a grand temple comes up at Ayodhya, the temple town in Uttar Pradesh that is considered one of the holiest centres in Hindu religion. Like Varanasi, Mathura and, of course, Tirupathi, it's expected to become a major religious centre in the coming years.

Analysts say that the local economy, as well as the state economy, will reap the fruits of today's Supreme Court verdict. Anywhere from 50,000 to 1 lakh pilgrims will visit Ayodhya in the initial years since this is the first time in centuries that Hindus will have a Ram Mandir at Ram's birthplace. "Heard about the economy of Kumbh? That is around $12 billion every 6 years for 270 million devotees who visit. Ayodhya is revered by 1 billion Hindus. Calculate," says Tatvam Asi, a Twitter user.

In terms of riches and importance, Ayodhya might become bigger than Tirupati. Shantanu Gupta said, "Tirupati is 4000 Crore yearly economy, Vaishno Devi is 500 Cr yearly economy, Prayag Kumbh created 1 Lakh+ Crore economy."
