Court observes that titles can’t be decided on faith/belief but on the claims. "Historical accounts indicate the belief of Hindus that Ayodhya was the birthplace of Lord Ram," it says.
The court also cites evidence that Ram Chabutra and Sita Rasoi were worshipped by Hindus before the advent of the British. "Hindus were in the possession of outer court of the disputed land," CJI says.
"The Babri Masjid was not abandoned by Muslims. Though the Hindus continued to worship at Ram Chabutra, they claimed ownership of the Garbh Garha too," the court says. (Source: ANI)
