The records of collections in Chennai Box Office for the just concluded weekend (November 25 to 27) prove that director Gautham Menon`s Achcham Yenbathu Madamaiyada` remains unscathed by the other new releases in consequent weeks.

The Silambarasan-Manjima Mohan starrer released on November 11 and has completed three weekends at the Chennai BO with a consistent performance. The film has collected over Rs.5 crores from theatres coming within the Chennai limits itself. Interestingly AYM` is only the sixth film in 2016, to cross the five crore collection mark in Chennai.

With 120 shows across 13 screens, the part romance part action entertainer has achieved 90% occupancy in its third weekend and collected Rs.31,62, 740. The overall collections stand at Rs.5,02,46,190. This elevates the film from Hit` status achieved last week to Super hit`.

Lastw eek`s big Tamil release Kavalai Vendam` starring Jiiva and Kajal Aggarwal released on Thursday (November 24) and has put up a good show in its first weekend. In Four days (Nov 24 to 27), the Deekay directorial has collected over one crore in Chennai (Rs.1,02,41,320) which can be termed as Good Opening. This came from 286 shows across 23 theatres in the city limits.

G.V.Prakash Kumar`s Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru` has collected Rs.22,19,080 from 135 shows across 14 screens. There has been a drop in collections and the performance of the Rajesh directorial in this weekend may be termed as Average`.

This King among this week`s slew of releases from multiple languages is Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan`s Dear Zindaigi`. With overwhelming positive reviews across the world the film directed by Gauri Shinde of English Vinglish` fame has performed exceptionally well in our Chennai too.

Having released in 10 screens in Chennai with 134 shows and 95% occupancy the film with Alia Bhat in the lead has almost touched the 50 Lakh mark in Chennai (Rs.49,01,840). This is an Excellent Opening for a non Tamil film in Chennai BO and SRK should have pulled the audience to the screens.
