According to the famous saint Purandaradasa poem ‘Kereya Neeranu Kerege Chelli…. What you earn you spend the same in the place you earn seems to be the policy of power star Puneeth Rajakumar, the pride of Karnataka.
In less than three and half months he has floated another film after ‘Kavaludari’ completing 85 percent of shooting. The film ‘Mayabazaar 2016’ is in Radhakrishna debutant direction with Prakash Rai, Achyuth Kumar, Raj B Shetty, Vasishta N Simha and Chytra in prominent roles.
This is an experimental film with entertainment values. I have immensely liked the narration of director Radhakrishna mentioned Puneeth Rajakumar speaking to media persons after the formal muhurut.
‘I need award and reward’ – both are important. I am not in a hurry to make number of films. Three films are enough in a year to produce. My wife Ashwini is looking after production. For ‘Mayabazar’ we have M Govindu as partner. For me the story has to strike first. It is only when I get good story, novel theme of narration the potentiality will be given platform. Through a family friend I heard story from Radhakrishna a civil engineer who has done a few short films.
I hear the script as an audience. I am not for any other rights such as television, dubbing etc. I tell the film makers not to bank on such things. On the other side getting award should not be the criteria. The film should be seen by the people. The people reward is most essential says Puneeth Rajakumar addressing a few journalists.
Besides Indian films, I watch good international films. Recently I saw Spanish films. For me subtitle is enough. In the similar way why not Kannada films with English sub titles for non Kannada speaking people is my thought observes Puneeth Rajakumar.
