Camel skull found in Shaad's room?

During the shoot of Awarapan in Jodhpur, one of the assistant directors hid a camel's skull in actor Shaad Randhawa's (Dara Singh's nephew) room. Shaad freaked out on spotting it and couldn't sleep that night. He asked for a change of hotel room till he was told that it was a prank!

Laughs director Mohit Suri, "One of my A.D.s, Vishal Mahadkar, found a skull in the desert while shooting a part of the Maula Maula song in Jodhpur. As Shaad was always at the receiving end of everyone's pranks, Vishal put the skull in his room and let everyone in on the prank. Shaad freaked out on sighting the skull!"

Talking about the Maula Maula song, Mohit adds, "It's picturised on Emraan and Shreya, and is one of the most beautifully shot songs in the film. It's been sung by Rafaqat Ali Khan. We haven't put it on air as yet. That's the last one left to put out and we'll probably do that next week."

Purab's Ferrari bangs into Emraan's SLK !

Those who've observed the theatrical trailer of AWARAPAN closely on television will recall a high-octane car chase between Emraan Hashmi and Purab Kohli.

In the sequence when Purab cuts across Emraan's SLK in his Ferrari, the former banged his Ferrari into the SLK! It seemed three cars were used to monitor the actors' cars during the sequence and six more to control the traffic when the shot was being filmed.

Director Mohit Suri confirmed the incident, "It happened on a highway in Bangkok. The company paid damages and a second SLK was called for!"

Mrinalini pushes Mohit into the sea!!

After shooting on a yacht for one of the scenes in Awarapan, director Mohit Suri was standing near the edge of the yacht smoking a cigarette, when one of his leading ladies, the sultry model, Mrinalini Sharma (rumoured to be seeing newcomer Tushar Jalota, also being launched by the Vishesh Films banner in Mahesh Bhatt's Showbiz) pushed him into the open sea.

Mercifully, Mohit never got angry because he shares a great rapport with Minty (as he fondly calls her) and knows that what she did was in complete jest.

When we asked him about the incident, he laughed, "Yeah, it happened in Pattaya. The water was deep and pretty rough but thankfully I know how to swim! I was drenched by the time I came back to the yacht. One of my crew members was kind to give me a pair of track pants and t-shirt to change into!"

Talking about how Minty got signed up for the role of Reema Zaidi in Awarapan, Mohit states, "We auditioned a number of girls and her audition was the best of the lot. Watch her in the film - you won't believe she's a newcomer."

No smooching for Emraan in AWARAPAN!

Emraan Hashmi, Bollywood's notorious serial kisser, has defied his image in forthcoming Mahesh Bhatt-presented magnum opus, Awarapan.

He does not have any kissing scene with his leading ladies, Shriya Saran and Mrinalini Sharma. In all his interviews, when quizzed, Emraan had maintained the "Wait and watch" stance but director Mohit Suri (Zeher, Kalyug, Woh Lamhe) spilled the beans.

"Emi [Emraan] will not be smooching in Awarapan. The script and subject matter didn't require him to kiss! The audience will be surprised when they watch the film - there's a completely different Emraan and Mohit Suri!" he tells us. Elaborating on the film, he says, " Awarapan is subtle and tender, and yet a very intense musical love story with thrills and suspense. Both my girls are Muslim protagonists. The climax has been shot in Lahore. So there's a modicum of cultural sensitivity to it."

After the release of Awarapan on June 29, Mohit will begin work on Raaz-2 but does not wish to say more. "It's too early to reveal anything," he says. But according to sources, Emraan will replace Dino Morea in the sequel to the Vikram Bhatt hit.

Why Emraan has long hair in Awarapan

Did Emraan Hashmi grow his hair for Awarapan? At a recently held press conference of the film in London, he was seen in a similar get-up as in Awarapan, compelling people to wonder whether that was going to be his new look in perpetuity.

We are told that Emraan has actually worn hair extensions but they've been so well designed that they look natural, and seamlessly go with the rest of his hair. To get the right fit, Emraan would take hours to get these on before his shots.

Laughs director Mohit Suri, "Yes, Emi has worn hair extensions in Awarapan. It took him longer to get them on than the time the girls took to get ready!"

Maybe the extensions will be off once Awarapan releases today!
