After making small appearances in films like 'Qarib Qarib Singlle' and 'Mardaani 2', actress Avneet Kaur is all set for her first full fledged acting role in the film 'Tiku Weds Sheru'. This is first production venture of Kangana Ranaut and it also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role.
Like several other films of our time, this one also features a lead pair with a huge age gap between them. During a recent conversation with Hindustan Times, 20 year old Avneet talked about sharing screen with Nawaz, who is 27 years older than her.
She said, "I don’t see the age-gap between a male and a female actor as a problem. It has happened in the past but the performances of the actors have been appreciated. In fact, a lot of such pairings have received positive feedback. Kangana (Ranaut) ma’am has already said this was the requirement of the film and I agree with her.”
Avneet further talked about how talant is more important than popularity. She said, "It took me three to four years to get a film. Was I not popular at that time? I think I was. Even if you do get a project because of the number of followers you have, it all boils down to your talent eventually. I’ve waited to work on a film for so long now and I want to prove it to the audience that I’ve struggled really hard. I want to tell them that I deserve opportunities because of my talent."
