After dishing out successful romantic comedies like Oohalu Gusagusalade and Jyo Achyutananda earlier, actor-filmmaker Avasarala Srinivas has taken a detour with his next Palana Abbai Palana Ammai, fronted by Naga Shaurya. While the film—at the heart of it—is a serious love story, it will certainly lack in Avasarala’s signature style humour.
It’s a personal film for Avasarala as it’s been inspired from the lives of his friends who are living in different parts of the US. It revolves around four principal parts and is more of a conversational drama. The characters need to mimic real life, a reason why the film is being shot in sync sound.
Set in Vizag and US, the film will see Shaurya in multiple get-ups. The Indian leg of filming is over. The director will commence the US schedule—of 30 days spread over a couple of months— shortly. A joint production venture between People Media Factory and Dasari Productions, it co-stars Malavaika Nair and newbie Aakanksha Sharma, who is from Mumbai. Deepak Bhagavanth of Hora Hori fame is the cinematographer.
