Producers of Bala's 'Avan Ivan', AGS Entertainment, have come out with a clarification that characters in the film are totally fictitious and the movie was not intended to hurt anyone's sentiments.

Earlier in the week, there were protests in front of some theatres screening 'Avan Ivan', alleging that the Jameen character in the movie resembles heavily the Singampatti Jameen and some scenes should be deleted from the flick.

Reacting to this, Rangarajan, director and CFO of the production house said, "Avan Ivan is an entertainer from National Award winning director Bala and the characters are entirely fictitious. Any resemblance to real life is pure coincidence."

Saying that the agitators had not contacted them yet, Rangarajan said their advocates’ team would handle if any legal issue arises. "I would like to clarify that that we never had any ill intentions against anyone," he concluded.
