You will be hearing the acronym MSK a lot in the coming days. It's because the name of Rajinikanth's party is said to be Makkal Sevai Katchi. An existing party by the name Anaithindhia Makkal Shakthi Kazhagam is reported to have been renamed as MSK through an application to the Election Commission.
'Autorickshaw' has reportedly been allotted as the symbol of the party. The EC is said to have rejected the 'Two-finger pose', better known as the 'Baba' symbol, on the grounds that voters may confuse it for the Congress party's 'Hand' symbol. 'Autorikshaw', to be sure, has got a massy appeal. The 'Two-finger pose' may not have that kind of impact.
As is known, Rajinikanth will be announcing his political entry on December 31. Days later, in January, he will formally launch the party and its flag.
As per a national daily report, MSK has expressed its intent to contest from all the Assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu in next year's Assembly elections.
