'It needs a lot of guts to write autobiographies and I believe almost all the autobiographies have lies in them. I don't have the courage to write facts of my life. I wish to keep it at what people assume about me' said Padma Bhushan Kamal Haasan who met the media and expressed his elation to have been shortlisted for the third highest civil honor in the country.

He said ‘This country is full of talent and I feel great to have been bestowed upon this honor by the GOI. To understand that I am one of those handful greats that received this degree of honor itself inspires me and cautions to me too’

I got every recognition delayed in my life and so, its not a surprise that this award came delayed to me too.’

‘No, I didn’t get Rajini’s call yet, I believe he has a surprise in store for me. I am equally happy for Vaira Muthu who is also announced ‘Padma Bhushan’ along with me. He is a dear friend of mine’

He ended saying ‘I thank all my family, friends and fans, especially my directors like Bala Chander for having treated me with such affection thru my career’
