The news of Shane Warne’s passing was confirmed by his management company in a brief statement released on Friday. The cricketer was in Koh Samui, Thailand, when he apparently suffered a heart attack. Warne was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the medical staff’s efforts, he could not be revived.

“Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived,” Warne’s management was reportedly quoted as saying. Shane Warne played for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) during the first four seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
