Atul Kurkarni is Mohanlal's villain in 'Kanal'

Actor Atul Kulkarni who enjoys a pan Indian presence, will play the villain in the movie 'Kanal' which is being directed by M. Padmakumar. The movie has Mohanlal essaying the role of John David who arrives at the sand city with hidden intentions. Anoop Menon essays the role of a journalist who follows him.

Honey Rose plays John David's wife. Sheelu Abraham and Nikita Thukral have other prominent roles in the movie. The movie will have an October release. The shooting has almost been wrapped up.
