Only few films by newcomers manage to create pre-release buzz. 'Attakathi' is sure one among them. Adding more credibility to the hype are songs by Santhosh Narayanan. A total of seven songs are there in 'Attakathi' album, presenting a variety fare. Produced by CV Kumar and directed by Pa Ranjith, the film which has Dinesh, Nandita, Iswarya, Shali and Soft Dhiyaana in lead roles, is getting ready to hit the screens. Before that, let us have a close look at its songs. Adi En Gana Mayil Listen here Ayinijivaakkam Muthu Not just his name, but this singer's voice too is different. This festival song creates a celebration mood, courtesy Santhosh Narayanan's composition and Ayinijivaakkam Muthu's rendition. Despite beats reminding songs of this genre, 'Adi En Gana Mayil...' strikes a right chord. Aasai Oru Pulveli Listen here Pradeep & Kalyani Nair The first line fits well. For, this is a song that is as soft as 'Pulveli' and it kindles the 'aasai' in us to listen it again. With apt usage of flute and guitar, Santhosh Narayanan, in the company of singers Pradeep and Kalyani Nair, has weaved a magic. Aadi Pona Aavani Listen here Gaana Bala How can a film on North Chennai be complete without a Gaana song? Here comes 'Aadi Pona Aavani...' to fill the gap. Gaana Bala gives an authentic feel to the song with his retro style of rendition. The song is set to top the charts after the film hits the screens. Nadukadalula Listen here Gaana Bala Yet another Gaana song by the same singer! The lyrics are not just simple, but humorous as well. Looks like Santhosh Narayanan can fill the void created by Deva, the big daddy of Gaana songs. An interesting song, we must say. Podi Vechi Pudippan Listen here Sathyan, Palakkad Sriram, Brinda An imaginative blend of funk and Tamil folk, 'Podi Vechi Pudippan...' has been conceived and mixed well by Santhosh Narayanan. Singers Sathyan, Palakkad Sreeram and Brinda chip in with their best. Lyrics by Muthamil are good. Band Musical Sequence Listen here Band Kuberan and Band Murali It's band with a bang here. Kuberan and Murali simply rock with their performance. Due credits should go to Santhosh Narayanan for presenting a convincing sequence. Its retro style works big time for this piece. Vazhi Parthirundhen Listen here Pradeep A very good attempt by Santhosh Narayanan, 'Vazhi Parthirundhen...' is remarkably poised and is beautifully backed by guitar. Pradeep is sure to join the big league of singers. The lyrics too are impressive, ably assisting the music composer's tune. To sum it up, 'Attakathi' is an interesting music album, apparently a prelude to the film. |
