Today is the birthday of young actor Dinesh the lead actor of 'Visaranai' which has won multiple National award and has been selected as India;s nominee for the prestigious Oscar Awards.

Born in North Chennai, Dinesh started searching for acting opportunities after finishing graduation. He got trained in the art of acting from Koothu Pattarai. He played minor roles in director Vetrimaran's 'Aadukalam' with Dhanush and the critically acclaimed super hit 'Mounaguru'.

Director Pa.Ranjith found him to be the best fit for the lead character of his debut film and that resulted in the critically acclaimed super hit 'Attakathi'. The film served as a strong launchpad for the director, music director (Santosh Narayanan) and lead actors (Dinesh and Nandita) who are now highly popular in Kollywood.

Dinesh went on to act in critically acclaimed super hits such as director Raju Murugan's debut film 'Cuckoo' and 'Tamizhukku En Ondrai Azhuthavum'.

2016 is a path breaking year in Dinesh's acting career as he had two major releases- one the highly acclaimed 'Visaranai' that won so many awards and two the blockbuster 'Kabali' in which he played a supporting character with the evergreen Superstar Rajinikanth. The realistic romance flick 'Oru Naal Koothu' in which he played one of the lead characters is also one of the remarkable films of the year.

Dinesh has carved a niche for himself as an actor who could perfectly fit in the boy-next door hero mould as well as characters that would pose big challenge for an actor. In 'Kabali' he had minimal dialogues but impressed everyone with his expressions, body language and gestures that would change in a fraction of a second. His portrayal of the characters was positively remarked in every review written for the film.

Dinesh's upcoming projects include 'Ulkuthu', 'Merli', 'Vaarayo Vennilave' and 'Annanukku Jai'. All these films are in different stages of production.
