In October last year, YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy was attacked with a knife at the Visakhapatnam airport by a youth. The news is that the high-profile case has been taken over by theNational Investigation Agency (NIA). Its Hyderabad unit will now investigate the sensational attack. This is as per the directions given by the High Court on Friday.
After the attack, an attempt to murder case was registered against the offender under Section 307 of the IPC. This was based on a complaint filed by the CISF Assistant Commandant Dinesh Kumar.
The latest development comes just two days after the Vishakapatnam Police Commissioner commented that the assailant attacked Jagan just for publicity.
It's known that the AP police have long arrested Janepalli Srinivasa Rao regarding the attack.
