Today is celebrated as Teachers Day after the former President of our nation Dr Radhakrishnan. While students are busy wondering what gift to impress their teachers with, director Atlee has observed the day by honoring his own teacher, none other than director Shankar.

“While Teachers' Day comes just once a year, your teachings help me daily. I am and will always be eternally grateful to you. Happy Teachers' Day!” he stated on his social page. Well, isn’t that sweet!

After assisting Shankar, Atlee came out and earned a name for himself in the film industry by directing back to back hit films like ‘Raja Rani’, ‘Theri’ and ‘Mersal’. It is worth mentioning here that even his next movie has Thalapathy Vijay essaying the lead role.
