We all know that Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay plays a police officer in 'Theri' directed by Atlee. Now in an interview to a popular weekly magazine, the young director has revealed some interesting details about Vijay's character in the film.

Atlee has said that Vijay will not be a police officer hero with the attributes we regularly see in Tamil films.Instead, he is a humane and emotional cop in the film. The basis of the film is to stress the importance of remaining clean and correct at a personal level which will lead to rectification and reform in the society.

The film would also stress the need to stay connected with one's own family and hence it will also be rich in emotional content.

Regarding the characters of Samantha and Amy Jacson. Atlee has revealed that both the heroines of this film will have equally good scope to perform like it was for Nayanthara and Nazriya in his debut film 'Raja Rani'

Atlee has also assured that 'Theri' will be an out and out family entertainer apart from satisfying Vijay fans.

The shooting of the film produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu is fast nearing completion. 'Theri' which is expected to hit the screens on April 14, 2016 is the 50th film of music director G.V.Prakash. .
