Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Studios has won the Best Picture Award at the National Film Awards UK in Foreign Language category. Along with the 2017 blockbuster, 7 international films were nominated 'Happy End' (France), 'Loveless' (Russia), 'In the Fade' (France/Germany), 'The Square (Germany, Sweden, France), 'A Fantastic Woman' (Chile), 'Vaya' (South Africa) and 'The Insult' (Lebonan').
'Mersal' emerged the winner beating all the seven high rated movies. The film provided wholesome entertainment for all sections of the audiences powered by Vijay's triple roles as a villager, a magician and a doctor. The there heroines Samantha, Nithya Menen and Kajal Agarwal wowed the audiences with unique characterisations. A.R. Rahman's scintilating music, Ruben's deft cuts, G.K. Vishnu's crisp cinematography and T. Muthuraj's awesome sets are truly upto international standards.
Sri Thenandal Studios believed in the largen than life vision of Atlee and backed him to the hilt to first gain 100 percent audience and fans admiration and now the icing on the cake is the National Film Awards from the UK. Congrats 'Mersal' team !
