Actor Atharvaa had last acted in the thriller 100 directed by Sam Anton, and the movie which saw the actor playing a police officer posted in the control room, also starred Hansika Motwani, Yogi Babu and Radharavi and turned out to be fairly successful at the box office.

After 100, Atharvaa's next release will be Valmilki, a Telugu movie which marks the actor's debut in Tollywood. Valmiki is the official Telugu remake of the 2014 Tamil hit Jigarthanda directed by Karthik Subbaraj and starring Siddharth and Bobby Simha in lead roles, and Atharva plays Siddharth's role.

Valmiki is directed by Harish Shankar, and the movie was initially announced to be released on September 13. However as Nani starrer Gang Leader is releasing on that day, to avoid clash, this movie has been pushed to September 20. Valmiki also stars Pooja Hegde and popular dubsmash celebrity Mirnalini Ravi.
