Is Atharva - Anupama movie a remake?

It was reported recently that, actor Atharva, fresh from the success of his action packed police thriller 100 directed by Sam Anton, and Malayalam actress Anupama Parameswaran who was last seen in Tamil in the Dhanush starrer Kodi are coming together for a new movie.
This yet to be titled movie is directed by Kannan, who had last directed Boomerang with Atharva, and it was also said that this movie will be a romantic story which will have Atharva playing a PhD scholar and Anupama Parameswaran playing a Bharatnatyam dancer.
Now it has been speculated that this movie might be the remake of Tollywood hit movie Ninnukori released in 2017, starring Nani and Nivetha Thomas, as the movie had similar characterizations. An official clarification on this movie being a remake is expected soon, and it must be noted that in past, Kannan had directed remakes like Kanden Kadhalai and Settai.
