‘Aswathama’, starring Naga Shaurya in the lead, is a vigilante-crime-thriller drama. Directed by Ramana Teja, it hit the screens last Friday.
In three days, the film made about Rs 10.35 Cr in terms of Gross. Since the film was sold for Rs 6.5 Cr to distributors, it has exceeded expectations in terms of distributor share as well. The makers have it that ‘Aswathama’ is nearing a break-even with strong collections in most of the territories. At this rate, the film is going to become the biggest hit in Shaurya’s career.
For a medium-budget film, the figure is decent enough. Produced by Shaurya’s home banner, ‘Aswathama’ is likely to hold well on weekdays. Given that Sunday’s collections were highly encouraging, the word of mouth is evidently positive on the ground.
Starring Jisshu Sengupta (Bengali actor) as the antagonist, it has Mehreen Pirzada as the female lead.
