Dhanush and Vetrimaaran the hottest actor-director combo in Tamil cinema is busy sculpting their next magnum opus 'Asuran' after their critically acclaimed and commercial hit 'Vada Chennai' released in 2018. The film has Manju Warrier making her debut as heroine in Tamil opposite Dhanush, while Pasupathy, Balaji Shaktivel, Pawan, Yogi Babu, Guru Somasundaram and Vijay Sethupathi are also in the cast.

The music director of 'Asuran' is G.V. Prakash Kumar who reunites with Dhanush and Vetrimaaran after their pathbreaking 'Polladhavan' and 'Aadukalam'. GVP has given the hot update "Two tunes nailed for 'Asuran' ... excited about the album and the super combo Dhanush, Vetrimaaran and V Creations ... superb dance numbers waiting on way for all of you ..". The other highlight of this project is that it is GVP's 71st film as composer.
