London based independent singer Teejay Arunasalam had made his debut in Tamil cinema last year with Asuran directed by Vetrimaaran. Teejay was seen playing the elder son of actor Dhanush and Manju Warrier in the movie and had received good response for his acting.

Teejay will be seen next as the lead in the movie Thatrom Thookrom which is said to be an action thriller and is directed by debutant Arul. The movie will have Teejay playing an 18 year old, and though the movie was started in 2017 itself, it is set to release this year.

It has been said that this movie will be based on the demonetization which happened before three years, and about how it affects the lives of three orphans. The movie which has music by Balamurali Balu has a song named demonetization anthem sung by Simbu.
