Assess YCP governments Covid performance without bias: Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan has given an exclusive media interview after a long time.  He spoke at length about some of the most happening socio-political issues.

The Jana Sena supremo said that an unbiased assessment of the YCP government's performance on Covid-19 is needed.  "Coronavirus is a global problem.  Like many nations, the AP government too thought that it's just a flu initially.  But the problem turned virulent in no time.  The healthcare system in AP is not fully efficient and alert," the actor-politician said, adding that we have no option but to live with the virus.  "Until there is no vaccine, we all have to take care of ourselves.  The government has been somewhat negligent in raising awareness," he added.

Pawan alleged that the housing scheme has been riddled with favouritism and corruption in the State.  "Those who haven't voted for YCP have been kept out of the scheme in many cases.  Land grabbing by local politicians and deserving ones not getting benefits is also noticed.  There are massive leakages involving middlemen.  I have been getting reports that there are lacunae in the distribution of pattas," Pawan said.

Regarding the capital issue, Pawan opined that AP needs a strong capital.  "The previous government said that a Singapore-type capital would be built.  But where was the system to ensure that?  The present government is peddling illusions by going for a three capital model," he opined.

Pawan said that the issues concerning farmers, who have been complaining about the land pooling issue, should be addressed to avoid a Nandigram-type headache.

The 'Vakeel Saab' actor said that atrocities against Dalits in the State are orchestrated.  "This is despite the fact that the Home Minister herself is a Dalit," he lamented.

Pawan said that he has been practising Chaturmasa Deeksha since 2003.  "I used to observe the Deeksha for personal reasons.  This year, I have done so with universal good in mind.  Sleeping on the floor and eating food just for once a day are some of the rituals I have been practising," he added.
