It is well known that the Ajith starrer 'Billa',was a huge hit when released in 2007. It was a remake of Superstar Rajinikanth's movie of the same name released in 1980 which in turn was the remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer 'Don'.

The 'Billa' (2007) was directed by Vishnuvardhan with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and starred Ajith, Nayanthara and Namitha in the lead roles. It served as a comeback for Nayanthara after her ultra glam role of Sasha became hugely popular among fans. She also featured in high octane action sequences but shots of her in bikini with a tattoo on her lower back is still the celebrated by her fans.

However the interesting fact is that Nayan was not the original choice to play Sasha and it was actually Asin, her arch rival at the time . Asin's test shoot photos for 'Billa' have now gone viral on the internet. She brought her own style to the character but it is said that she suddenly withdrew from this project due to date issues. It is said that the makers then approached Bollywood actress Isha Sharvani before Nayan was then signed on as replacement and the rest as they say is history.

While Asin married business tycoon Rahul Sharma in 2016 and quit acting, Nayanthara is still going strong hailed as the Lady Superstar. She is currently starring in her first Hindi movie 'Jawan' directed by Atlee in which Shah Rukh Khan and Vijay Sethupathi are her costars.
