Actor Asif Ali's Kunjeldho had cleared the censors with a U and had been waiting for its release ever since the COVID pandemic began. While the makers had initially planned to release the movie on the OTT platform, later decided to wait for the theatre to resume functioning. The makers have recently confirmed that the Asif Alimovie will be a Christmas release, on December 24. The movie will lock horns with the Antony Varghese starrer Ajagajantharam, which is set to release on the same day.

Kunjeldho marks the directorial debut of RJ Mathukkutty. The movie stars Asif Ali, Gopika Udayan, Sudheesh, Siddique, Arjun Gopal and Rajesh Sharma. Touted to be a campus story, the movie also has Vineeth Sreenivasan on board as a creative director. Prasobh Krishna and Suvin K Varkey are producing Kunjeldho under the banner of Little Big Films. The cinematography is by Swaroop Philip while Ranjan Abraham handles the editing. Shaan Rahman composed the music to the lyrics of Santhosh Varma and Aswathy Sreekanth.
