Actor Asif Ali-Rajisha Vijayan's upcoming movie ‘Ellam Sheriyaakum’ was earlier announced to hit the big screens on June 4. However, the release was pushed owing to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. Now, the latest is that the makers have finalized a new release date for the movie. The political satire directed by Jibu Jacob of Vellimoonga fame will be released on September 17.

Scripted by Sharis Muhammed, Ellam Sheriyaakum has Asif Ali as a youth activist of the left-wing party. The movie marks the second collaboration of the actor and Rajisha Vijayan after their superhit ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’. Jointly produced by Thomas Thiruvalla and Dr. Paul Varghese under the banner of Dr. Paul’s Entertainment, the movie also stars Sudheer Karamana, Siddique, Kalabhavan Shajohn, and Sethulakshmi in important roles. Cinematography is by Sreejith Nair and music is by veteran Ouseppachan. Sooraj ES is handling the cuts. Meanwhile, Asif Ali’s ‘Kunjeldho’ will have a theatrical release on August 27. Though the filmmakers have been announcing the release date of movies, the Kerala government is yet to take a decision on reopening theatres in the state.
