Asianet - Ujala film awards on January 28th

The Ninth Ujala - Asianet Film awards will be presented at a grand ceremony to be held on the 28th of January at the Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
The Lal Jose - directed Classmates, director Major Ravi, Mohanlal and Padmapriya will receive top honors for their performances in the films made in 2006.

Best Actress - Padmapriya (Karutha Pakshikal and Vadakkumnaathan)
Best Director - Major Ravi (Keerthi Chakra)

Best Actor in a Character Role (Male) - Saikumar (Chakkaramuthu)
Best Actress in a Character Role (Female) - Radhika (Classmates)
Best Actor in a Villain's Role - Siddique (Bada Dosth and Prajapathi)
Best Actor in a Comic Role - Innocent (Rasathanthram and Yes, Your Honour)
Best scenarist - James Albert (Classmates)
Best Lyricist - Gireesh Puthencherry (Vadakkumnaathan)
Best Music Director - Raveendran (posthumously for Vadakkumnaathan)
Best Singer (Male) - G. Venugopal for the song Kainiraye Venna tharaam from Baba Kalyani
Best Singer (female) - Manjari for the song Attinkarayoraththe from Rasathanthram
Best Child Artist (Male) - Master Rohith (Prajapathi)
Best Child Artist (female) - Baby Malavika (Karuththa Pakshikal)
Best Cinematographer - Santhosh Thundiyil (Palunku)
Best Editor - Ranjan Abraham (Classmates)
Best Sound Recordist - Anoop and Vinod (Karuththa Pakshikal)
Best Star Pair of the Year - Jeeva and Gopika (Keerthi chakra)
Best New Face of the year (Male) - Skanda (Notebook)
Best New Face of the year (female) - Roma (Notebook).
Noted Producer Shobana Parameswaran Nair gets the Asianet Lifetime Achievement Award for overall contribution to Malayalam cinema. A Special Jury Award will be given to Roshan Andrews, the director of Notebook and another to Laksmi Sharma, the heroine of Palunku.
