The buzz in industry circles is that Vyjayanthi Movies stalwart C Ashwini Dutt has demanded a compensation of Rs 1.50 Cr from '24' and 'Manam' director Vikram Kumar.
Going into the details, this is how it all began. After Vikram proved that he can handle a straight Telugu film with 'Manam', Dutt was pretty much impressed to work with him. He is believed to have paid Vikram a hefty sum as advance payment for his dates.
It has been years since Vikram received the amount, but he has failed to fulfill Dutt's desire to direct a film under Vyjayanthi Movies. At least for the next one year, no project in the combination is in sight.
With this, Dutt has reportedly asked a compensation of Rs 1.50 Cr from the star director. Either he should pay it directly or get it done through the producer of his next movie. Whoever produces Vikram's next movie will pay the amount to Dutt in his own interest - to avoid disputes and litigations.
At the time of writing this piece, no official response to the rumour was there from the producer or the director.
